So here it is. The next big piece of the puzzle is finally revealed. What happened to savage in the desert? What was that big, metal, phallic looking thingee? What was all that green light?

Well, I’m not going to tell you. I’ll let the latest strip speak for itself.

I will say that I am a tremendous fan of The Incredible Hulk. I’ve been collecting and reading Hulk comics for over 10 years, I think, and I’ve got over 200 issues in my collection. I’m a great, big, huge fan of Peter David’s work on the book; he wrote the Hulk for about 12 years and I’ve got just about every issue in his entire run. After he left things kind of went to the pooper for a while, and they had some pretty uneven storytelling. Things have picked up recently, though, and I encourage anyone who’s a fan of good storytelling to pick up one or two of the issues written by Bruce Jones. I’ve been loving them.

Now what the heck does all this have to do with Savage? Let’s just say that one facet, on major facet, of the Salad Days storyline is a tribute to one of my favorite comics of all time. Before you start moaning and groaning about where I’m taking the comic, rest assured that there’ slots of Towne Pub twists and turns ahead in the final three parts of the story, and Savage’s gamma irradiated condition is only one of them.

So. Does he change when he gets mad? Does he become a big, stupid brute? Is he strong like the Hulk, smart like the Leader, or just insane like the Abomination? Only time will tell, dear readers. Stay tuned!
