So, the two or three people in the world that visit Towne Pub and are not spam bots are now seeing the front page of the newish site. It’s mostly using a design that is at least 6 or 7 years old now but has a WordPress back end an is no longer strictly confined to 800×600 pixels (or whatever it used to be). Horizontally it’s the same, but it now stretches vertically.

Dave has been having way too much fun here, though, and he’s started creating a really neat back end using ComicPress, which is a fully featured plug in to WordPress designed for publishing web comics. Right now that page is hidden, and will continue to be until Dave is satisfied with it. So far it’s pretty fucking slick, though.

One of the advantages to the new system is that I can update the front page blog/news posts via an iPhone app. In fact, that’s what I’m doing right now. I’m sitting less than a foot from a fully connected PC with a full keyboard and mouse that actually has my blog open in a browser and I’m typing this with 2 thumbs on a 3 inch screen. I need help.

I’m still not sure what I plan to do with this site. I moved it to save about $20 a month in hosting fees, and I was too sentimentally attached to dump it altogether. I think I may start updating the blog a few times a week. Folks that know me will k ow what to expect: irrational tirades with a strictly liberal bent mixed with movie and game reviews. In fact, tomorrow I’ll probably post my review of Zombieland, just for giggles.

In the mean time, Dave is in a meeting in Buffalo trying to look busy so donkey pants waffle nuts.
