…how this new site works.
It’s fairly straight forward, I think, once you get used to it. As I mentioned in a previous post, we’re now using WordPress to drive the blog posts that appear on the front page. Additionally, Dave has installed the ComicPress plugin to handle all of the comics on the site. On the left side you’ll find a calendar with recent updates directly linked. You’ll also find the archive browser, and some off-site links (to Facebook and Dave’s own site).
On the right you’ll see a bunch of “category” links. Most of those are associated with various story lines in the original Towne Pub comic strip. If you want to jump to any one, like my favorite, just click on the associated link. This will open up a page with scaled-down versions of every comic in that chapter. Clicking on any individual comic will open up the full sized comic in the browser where you can see any associated posts or commentary, and navigate through the strips using the handy buttons at the bottom.
I really, really think that we’re going to start uploading new comics very soon. Right now we’re debating whether to go with less regular full-page comics, or more regular 3-4 panel gag strips. Or some combination of the two. Either way, I should let folks know that we likely will not be tying up any of the loose ends left in the old strip. It would take far too long to dig out of those very, very deep plot holes. If and when we do new strips, we’re going to reboot. I hope you’ll check back regularly to see what’s new.
